           My favorite English teacher/My favorite prersonality

My English is Mr. Rakib. He is forty years old. He is an M.A in English. He does not have a beard. He has an enormous moustache. He does not have a lot of hair on his head. But he is not bald either. His hair is not straight but curly. He is lively, punctual. His voice is very sweet. He is a good actor too. He is creative and reasonable. He is able to sing. He is my guide and teacher. He is my best friend. I feel comfort beside him. He teaches me English in communicative method. He practices me four skills. They are listening, speaking, reading and writing. He encourages me to speak English. He advises me that I can speak only by speaking, I can listen only by listening, I can read only by reading, I can write only by writing. He also ensures me that I can learn English through mistakes.

                                                          Our village

The name of my village is Barovita. It is under Fulbari Upazila of Kurigram district. There are three thousand people living in the village. They are mainly Muslim and Hindu. Most of the people of our village are farmers. The rest of them are doctors, teachers and business person. There is a good relation among our village people. We visit the Hindu friends during the Durga puza. The Hindu friends also visit the Muslims friends during the Eid occasion. There is a river flowing beside our village. There are a primary school, a high school, a girls high school, a college, a mosque and a post office. There are a Eidgah-mat and a Dabi-bari-mat. There is a bazar. It is named after the village. The common culture of our village is jatra, jarigan and boat race. It is a very ancient village. I am proud of my village.

                                 Fire on garments factory

Surma garment factory was set fire on 25 May 2009 in the morning at 9:30 a.m. It was 9 storied building. There are about 500 workers working here. At the time of setting fire, 478 workers were working there. It is known that the short circuit is the cause of sudden out break of fire. The factory faced huge losses due to sudden fire. The fire gutted 600 ton yarn and cloth, 66 knitting machine, 41 sharing machine, 38 brushing machine, 876 sewing machine and two standard machines. Though the cause of fire is short circuit, there was flammable chemical in side the factory. The negligence of the factory owner is another reason of sudden fire. There were 345 workers were burnt to death as there was not sufficient corridor for the workers to get out quickly. A case was filed in Gulsan police station against the factory owner. The factory owner was arrested. A three member investigation committee was formed to investigate the incident.

                                                     A vote center

The 19th national election of Bangladesh parliament was held yesterday. It was a government holiday. The head teacher of the Zila School was the presiding officer. There were 8 booths.For each booth, there was an assistant presiding officer. There were three polling officers for each booth. There were eight columns for the voters. Three columns were for the male voters and five columns were for the female voters. The vote center was encircled with bamboo. it was fully secured for the voters. There was Answer and police security around the vote center. The vote was started in the morning at 8.00 am. And it was finished in the afternoon at 5.00 pm. The votes were started counting at 5.30 p.m. The agents of all candidates were present at the time of vote counting. There were five candidates of different political parties. The candidate of the Mohajot got the highest vote. And his nearest competitor was four party alliances. it was a fair and neutral election center.

         Cultural week in Rajshahi Government Mohila College

A cultural week was held in Rajshahi Government Mohila College on 21 May to 28 May 2009. There were there events. They were debate competition, open speech competition, different song competition and dance competition. The education minister declared the opening of the cultural week. The principal of the college presided over the function. The function was started on 22 May 2009 at 11.00 a.m in the college auditorium. It was divided in to three seasons. The opening season was debate competition. The second season was open speech and song competition. And the third season was dance competition. On the last day, the prize giving ceremony was held. The prize distributing season was started after the speech of the chief guest, special guests and the principal of the college. The winners of different events received the prize from the chief guest. Moklesur Rahman, the student of science group received the prize of championship.

                     The rising of prices of essential commodities in the market.

Price of all things is hiking rapidly. It is a common problem all over the world. The world market is going out of the control of the businessmen, The government is becoming helpless. Today the price of rice, cloth, medicine, milk, meat and fish is going up by leaps and bound. A week before per k.g rice was sold at 22 taka. Now it is being sold at 43 taka per k.g. Same condition is for the milk powder, meat and fish. People are becoming helpless. There are many factors behind price rising. They are population explosion. low productivity, smuggling, natural calamities and communication. Black marketing and business centigrade are also responsible for price rising. And another cause of price rising is inflation. However th people of limited income are the victim of price rising. They are passing their days in constant anxiety. They are facing difficulty to maintain their everyday cost.
